Making mugs is a challenge and a joy. They are the most intimate of clay objects; you appreciate their colors and shapes with your eyes, feel their texture with your hands, and “taste” them with your mouth. These mugs are meant to be used, but also to have the same spirit and style of the rest of my work. Made from high fired porcelain, they will stand up to daily wear and tear, and can be washed in your dishwasher. Each one is different. When I make a “batch” I try to think of them as a grouping and allow the textures and patterns to play off each other.
